Our Board of Directors

The PRPL HRT MVMNT is guided by a passionate and dedicated Board of Directors committed to empowering individuals facing substance abuse challenges and limb loss. Our board members bring a diverse range of experience in recovery, advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and lived experience. Together, they provide strategic oversight, uphold our mission, and ensure we remain grounded in compassion, resilience, and transformation.

Garold Vallie | President / Board Chair

Garold Vallie is a lifelong creative, motivator, and survivor with a passion for helping others rise above adversity. With over 25 years as a professional skateboarder, Garold has inspired countless individuals through his fearless approach to life and relentless pursuit of purpose. He’s the author of “Voluntary Self Achievement and DIFY”, a public speaker known for his raw authenticity, and the drummer for a high-energy punk band that embodies his rebellious spirit.
Garold is the founder of PRPL HRT, a brand born from the belief that love, resilience, and courage can transform lives. He co-founded PRPL HRT MVMNT to take that belief further—creating a nonprofit that supports individuals battling addiction, limb loss, and personal hardship. Guided by the legacy of his grandfather, Purple Heart recipient Elmer Vallie, Garold brings grit, heart, and a deep commitment to real-world change.

George Leightweis | Vice President / Vice Chair

George Leichtweis is a pioneer in the Midwest skateboarding scene and a lifelong advocate for inclusivity in action sports. As the owner and operator of Modern Skate and Surf in Royal Oak, Michigan for over 40 years, George has played a pivotal role in growing and sustaining the local skate community—creating safe, welcoming spaces for skaters of all backgrounds and abilities.

George is especially passionate about championing underrepresented groups in skateboarding, including adaptive and blind skaters, and has dedicated his career to breaking down barriers in the sport. His deep-rooted commitment to community, combined with decades of leadership in the industry, makes him a vital voice on the board of PRPL HRT MVMNT.

Jeff Schill | Treasurer

Jeff Schill is the owner and driving force behind HIP Detail, located in the heart of Port Clinton, Ohio. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for perfection, Jeff has built HIP Detail into a trusted name for high-quality marine detailing.

Beyond the business, Jeff is a lifelong skateboarder whose love for skating reflects in his creative energy and commitment to the craft. That same dedication helped guide him through one of his greatest journeys—his path to sobriety. Jeff proudly celebrates his sobriety date of October 16th, 2015, a milestone that represents his strength, resilience, and dedication to growth.

Through HIP Detail, Jeff brings not just expert-level service but also a story of transformation, passion, and purpose. Whether he’s perfecting a polish or catching a skate session, Jeff lives every day with intention and heart.

Trevor kamin | Secretary

Trevor Kamin is a software engineer, entrepreneur, and lifelong advocate for perseverance through adversity. As the co-owner of Ping Software USA, Trevor has used his technical skills to build digital solutions that connect and empower communities. Off-screen, his passion for skateboarding led him to found Revolve Skates and the Motor City Freestyle competition—both created to unite and inspire Michigan’s skate culture.

A double amputee and living example of resilience, Trevor co-founded PRPL HRT MVMNT alongside Garold Vallie to give back to those overcoming life’s toughest battles. His journey, from skateboarding as a kid with Garold to co-creating a movement for transformation, speaks to his unwavering belief in the human spirit. Trevor brings a rare blend of tech savvy, creative vision, and lived experience to the heart of the movement.
